If you run multiple OSes to separate work, play and music, then renaming your OS options will help a ton more than “Windows 10 partition 1” , “Windows 10 partition 2” and “Windows 10 partition 3”.<\/p>\n

To change the default OS to boot<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open msconfig<\/li>\n
  2. Select Boot tab<\/li>\n
  3. Pick the OS in the list, and “Set as Default”<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    To change the names of the options:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Run “cmd” or command prompt with Administrative privileges.<\/li>\n
    2. Run “bcdedit”<\/li>\n
    3. You will see a list of particles and each with the “Windows Boot Loader” heading.<\/li>\n
    4. Find the identifier of the OS you want to edit. i.e. “{current}” or “{b56096d4-9ad0-11e8-9158-daa89f8dd4f4}”<\/li>\n
    5. Run bcdedit \/set {current} description “A-NAME-I-LIKE”<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
